Resource Planning & Scheduling
Resource Planning includes the allocation of crews, available inventory, purchased materials, equipment and vehicles to jobs, projects and maintenance of assets. The resource data base stores information for skilled and unskilled workers allowing planners and schedulers to select crews with the appropriate skills for the job. Resource planning and scheduling personnel also have on-line access to inventory availability, purchasing data and to the vehicle data base to form standard truck/crew planning units.
Crews can be comprised of one or more crew members and a standard truck/crew unit with a crew size providing a work force capacity of a given number of hours on a single shift or day for a job or project. Planners and schedulers can name their crews that represent the work force for a job or project as they create planning bars with a start and finish date. The length of a planning bar represents the job or project duration which can be reduced by half as the planned work force and equipment is doubled for a single shift or day.

The Crew Schedule Board also facilitates scheduling of small jobs for short durations to improve on-time work completion. Schedulers have on-line access to inventory, purchase orders, vehicle availability and the resource data base for crew assignments. Schedulers maintain monthly, weekly, daily or shift schedules for shared views of real-time schedules by department as work orders are raised for scheduled jobs and projects.
